This series, which I started in 1982 and on which I continue working, has shown from the very beginning and during its execution, some factual doubts, formal regrets and conceptual mistakes. I first called it Inside-Outside, then Metaphor and Reality until I finally chose a more eloquent and definite name: Reality and Representation.

The outdoor stones are real. They were collected on my journeys and carefully chosen with an aesthetic purpose. All the rest is an idea, claimed in the tempting apprehension, deceitful representation, and charming skill of artistic execution in the imitation of objects.
