This series had five oil paintings. Its main plot was symptomatic and the consequence was the coup in our country in 1976 and its long-term implications. News about executions, deprivations of liberty, abuses, forced imprisonments often followed by murder [desapariciones] and the appropriation of babies ordered by the Military Government over the civil population had no expressions of disapproval at the time – either because of connivance or convenience- except by a small group of people who reported such atrocities. Years later, during a democratic period, that horror was revealed in proven police investigation and it was a shocking ethical and emotional turning point for the Argentinian society as a whole.

In that context, I painted the bodies of the victims and the exact location of the places where they were found as an additional fact, with some of their torn limbs in detail, certainly with less intensity – for aesthetic realism, I mean- but surely with the mark inherent to decline.
