SIX NIGHTS

1988
1988

Unlike anything you could imagine, I made this series of oil paintings about the night without the direct observation of the sky and its formal plastic imitation. Instead, the focus was firstly on the personal interpretation of a sky which represents baroque painting and secondly on the tonal colour range that may have inspired a night tragedy and its sentimental outcome.
This series was originally created for seven nights, one for each day of the week. However, a forgettable combination of events has damaged the last painting.

CLEAR NIGHT. Oil on canvas. 48 cm diameter. 1989.
