POSTER

1982
I 2025

These drawings, which were first made in ink and years later colored and completed with the technique of collage, had as an initial reference the short story “A Common Confusion” by Franz Kafka. The story comes down to this motivating general plot: a man has made an appointment and he fully commits himself to it. He looks at his imprecise surroundings and hastily leaves towards an address. However, we notice that he has not moved an inch. Later, he eagerly looks at shop windows and advertisements, but he remains in the same spot where we woke up.

I have often found incongruity in this short story, which became the main idea of this series which I worked on with an attitude of freedom through a succession of collages.

THE CITY IN REVERSE. Ink, oil pastel, typography and plastic glued on paper. 31x 30 cm. 1982.
